Hayden Marsh is a leading financial and commercial recruiter based in Oxford and serving Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties. We specialise in permanent, temporary and contract positions and have a strong reputation for delivering relevant career advice and opportunities, together with a highly refined matching service, to all our customers.

In 2007, we served 4500 clients and 3700 candidates. In 2008, year on year monthly comparisons show a 38% increase in turnover and a 41% increase in activity (based on new vacancies and registered CVs). We are career management consultants with an emphasis on consultation.

Why do you specialise and in which sectors?

We concentrate our activities in the areas in which we can add most value to the recruitment process, and we base this assessment on the knowledge and experience of our highly trained team of recruitment professionals who provide industry relevant advice and commentary. This, in turn, attracts high calibre candidates with an appreciation of our commitment to detail and the specific nature of our services. We introduce carefully selected candidates from chosen fields to carefully determined clients by adhering to best practice recruitment procedures that help match people to suitable work cultures and dynamics.

  • Finance and Accounting Recruitment: we have significant experience across the whole financial sector, having sourced and recruited for permanent, temporary and contract roles in everything from strategically focussed accounting functions using qualified finance professionals, to part qualified accounting personnel and supporting non qualified finance staff.
  • Commercial Recruitment: we have significant experience of recruiting in the following sectors: Human Resources, Marketing, IT, Charity, Consultancy, Legal, Sales, Secretarial & PA. We also recruit in areas such as Pharmaceuticals, Retail, Hospitality & Catering, Insurance and Education.

We allocate a large part of our budget to advertising and marketing because we want our customers to be to identify with our work practices and operational standards.

Our message to our clients is equally clear: the nature of our advertising and searching processes means we attract a wide cross section of candidates, and our stringent matching, interviewing and profiling processes means we can represent good candidates, in fewer numbers where appropriate, so that we deliver on our promise of quality assurance.

Generally, we advertise extensively across many industry sectors using differing mediums. Primarily, we use our website which attracts nearly 4000 visitors a day (as of May 2008), plus our monthly page in the Oxford Times Inbusiness Magazine, which is read by 90,000 readers. We also use industry specific publications, generic and specialist job boards, and we sponsor and participate in media events (usually related to our chosen charity, Helen and Douglas House in Oxford)

What are your plans for 2008/9?

Our plans for 2008/9 are to increase our operating activity by at least half our current activities by continuing with our working practices and marketing strategy. In an increasingly competitive market, where years of booming economic activity are now showing signs of moderation, we need to maintain the competitive advantage we have developed of being able to combine corporate working practices with our ability to adapt to a changing environment and deliver a more personal and consultative recruitment package.
